The incumbent serves as the Associate General Counsel working under the direct supervision of the Principal Deputy General Counsel and General Counsel, and adheres to the policy and legal direction of the Deputy General Counsels. The incumbent is responsible for providing legal counsel, opinions, legal services and negotiation support with respect to implementation of the Clean Air Act and other various statutes as appropriate. This position is designated as Moderate Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation.
Position has portable work and selectee may be authorized to telework after meeting eligibility requirements if approved by the supervisor/manager.

C. Desirable Qualifications (DQs) - Optional - Addressing the Desirable Qualification is optional: however, failure to do so will impact your rating, unless you are a noncompetitive eligible applicant.
DQ1. Working knowledge of regulations and legal issues involving the following statutes: the Clean Air Act; the Noise Control Act; the Atomic Energy Act; the Nuclear Waste Policy Act (as it relates to 40 CFR Part 191); the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007; the Energy Policy Act of 1992; and the Outer Continental Shelf Act.
