Desert Southwest Region (DSW) Settlements and Resources Planning Manager develops, coordinates, and implements programs for risk assessment, value determination and portfolio management including, accounting and scheduling for the sale of hydroelectric power, transmission services and ancillary services to a wide and diverse customer base. The Settlements and Resource Planning Manager is responsible for after-the fact and deviation accounting for all Western Area Lower Colorado (WALC) Balancing Authority transactions. This position is considered a top risk management expert; delivery specialist and a power and transmission accounting and scheduling expert in the geographic region. Implementation of power resource planning, Settlement issues related to power and transmission purchases, power and transmission sales, facility deliveries, and transmission arrangements are continually negotiated and disputes settled. All of these activities ultimately roll into WAPA's ability to collect revenue and adequately maintain its mission-critical operations.
