This position is located in the Indian Resources Section. The Indian Resources Section litigates on behalf of federal agencies when they are protecting the rights and resources of federally recognized Indian tribes and their members. This includes both defending against challenges to statutes and agency action designed to protect tribal interests and bringing suits on behalf of federal agencies to protect tribal rights and natural resources. The rights and resources typically at issue include water rights, the ability to acquire reservation land, hunting and fishing rights, and other natural resources.
Who May Apply: Applicants must be CURRENT students in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional; technical, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree program; or other qualifying education institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.
Expected date of graduation must occur after May 2019. Students expecting to graduate before then will not be considered for this position.

GS-4: MUST have completed 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate degree, or l year of general experience. General experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be qualifying. An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university.
Typing Proficiency: Applicants must be able to type 40 words per minute. You must self-certify your typing skill on the occupational/assessment questionnaire and your resume.
