    Summary

    This position is being recruited under Section 1107 of the NDAA Year 2016 (Public Law 114-92) in the new Cyber Excepted Service (CES). Positions in the cyber excepted service are positions necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the United States Cyber Command. This position in the excepted service does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the competitive service.

    Responsibilities

    • Implementing, maintaining, and conducting onsite and remote analyses of information system standard security products and associated systems to determine overall technical features and standard security protection.
    • Providing technical support and guidance to staff in matters relating to a wide range of cyber network defense concepts including ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data.
    • Developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility, preventing and defending against unauthorized access, and developing systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures.
    • Providing expert level advice and assistance in the areas of cyber security architecture, systems auditing, security tools, tunneling protocols, network firewalls, detecting network attacks, forensics, and all areas related to Information Security.
