This position is part of the WHS Facilities Services Directorate. The Inventory Management Specialist is located in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Facilities Services Directorate (FSD), Federal Facilities Division (FFD), Property Management Branch (PMB). The PMB is responsible for moves, delivery, inventory, installations and surplus activities associated with OSD/WHS non-ADP equipment, furniture, carpet and durable office supplies. PMB manages inventory processes and documentation for accountable government property and expendable bulk items used by OSD/WHS organizations in the Pentagon and throughout the National Capital Region (NCR). PMB is also responsible for processing National Criminal Information Checks (NCIC) for vendors delivering goods and services through the Pentagon Remote Delivery Facility (RDF) and providing management and oversight for three warehouse storage facilities.

As a Inventory Management Specialist, GS-2010-9/11,the incumbent is responsible for the Property Recovery and Reutilization Program. Assures that the property reported excess by hand receipt holders are reported to the proper agency for screening and disposal instructions as appropriate, and that the disposal cycle is properly adhered to. Ensures that disposal instructions received from Defense Logistics Agency through the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) are followed and disposal is made safely and expeditiously. Ensures that disposal of accountable property is properly documented for purposes of accountability. Assures that excess property transferred to and between DoD agencies and other Federal activities are properly documented to ensure change of accountability.
