The System Engineering Information Management Division supports the transformation of America's Air Traffic Control System and the Systems Engineering and Planning community by supporting access, visibility and discoverability of systems engineering, planning and architecture information and products.
If you are selected for this position, you will be a part of a team that supports the technology needs of the NAS Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate. As the team member. You will provide day-to-day technical guidance to facilitate the delivery of the NAS Systems Engineering Portal (SEP).
The position serves as a General Engineer. The selected individual works closely with systems engineers, enterprise level architects, planners and other disciplines to elicit, collect and document requirements, analyze options, develop and test the selected technology solution using the configuration management process.
Working with FAA personnel and contractor support vendors to resolve software and website issues.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting the Division Manager by providing technical oversight of day-to-day service delivery of the NAS SEP.
Working with FAA personnel and contractor support vendors resolves technical system performance, certification, accreditation and website issues.
Working across the FAA and with various stakeholder groups to improve SEP user interface, content and data visibility and adoption of system changes.
Working with the team members provides technical knowledge to support NAS SE Portal Annual Build Plan and Quarterly Release technical planning and reviews.
Working with content owners to support continuous integration of data managed within the SEP
Evaluating technical solutions to support emerging business needs identified by NAS Systems Engineering community.
Performs multiple, varying and complex assignments under the limited direction or a manager.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Degree: professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1)be in a school of engineering with at least 1 curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2)include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than 1st year physics & chemistry) in 5 of these 7 areas of engineering science or physics:(a)statics, dynamics;(b)strength of materials;(c)fluid mechanics, hydraulics;(d)thermodynamics;(e)electrical fields and circuits;(f)nature and properties of materials; and (g)any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR Combination of education and experience - college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1)a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2)a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. THE ADEQUACY OF SUCH BACKGROUND MUST BE DEMONSTRATED BY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: Current registration as a professional engineer by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico; OR evidence of having successfully passed the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) exam, or the written test required for professional registration; OR successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences AND in engineering that included the courses specified in paragraph 1; OR successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field, e.g., physics, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, provided the applicant had at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision.
In addition to the basic requirements above, to qualify for this position at the payband I you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-12 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized experience may include but not limited to: Experience resolving software design, user interface, visualization and performance issues for a complex system. Experience working with stakeholders, teammates and vendors to accomplish assigned business objectives and resolve conflict.
