The NextGen Performance and Outreach Office, Stakeholder Collaboration Division is responsible for the operation of the NextGen Management Board and collaboration with aviation industry stakeholders. The incumbent of this position will lead the NextGen Management Board (NMB) planning, coordination and facilitation and will be the key coordinator and communication hub for collaboration with internal FAA stakeholders. The incumbent will serve to support the FAA Assistant Administrator for NextGen, and the FAA Deputy Administrator, as the NMB Chair, in executing the NextGen Management Board governance process. This position will serve to ensure that issues that are brought to the board are in conjunction with the NMB Charter and mission, which is to provide oversight of NextGen implementation by keeping agency leadership apprised of progress and challenges; resolving policy issues necessary for the successful implementation of NextGen, and remove barriers to successful implementation of NextGen capabilities by ensuring appropriate cross agency collaboration. The incumbent will also serve to apply program/project management techniques and knowledge of the aviation industry. The incumbent will often work with management to devise and apply strategic planning to stakeholder collaboration projects, taking into consideration FAA policies, oversight issues (Congress, Office of Inspector General (OIG), Government Accounting Office (GAO), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), government-wide rules and regulations, and industry standards.
Other duties and responsibilities include advising the NextGen Stakeholder Collaboration Manager and Performance and Outreach Division and leading the development of responses to recommendations from oversight bodies.
The incumbent will develop and maintain professional relationships with internal FAA stakeholders and will use these contacts to assist in the formulation of NMB meeting planning and agendas, and the formulation of policy documents and responses to Congress, OIG, GAO, OMB and other oversight bodies. Assists in the development of innovative approaches to attain organizational objectives and optimize resource utilization, and resolve complex problems and issues independently to ensure products and services are delivered in accordance with request and in a timely manner using expert program/project management techniques. The incumbent will also assist management in directing work conducted by junior-level employees.
To qualify for this position at the FV-J, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
