The Executive Assistant position is located within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Office of Compliance and Business Integrity (CBI) and reports to the Chief or Deputy Chief Compliance and Business Integrity Officer (CBIO). The position manages the administrative and operational functions required of the Program Office including personnel administration, government contracting, financial, budget, resource and quality management, records and information and data privacy, IT operations, travel management, strategic planning, organizational design and field operations.
In addition to the administrative duties outlined below, the incumbent of the position will be expert in the implementation and operations of an effective compliance program and shall be knowledgeable about all elements of an effective compliance program. As needed by the CBIO, the position will assist in leading projects or activities related to any aspect of an effective compliance program including promoting a culture of integrity, developing policies, communications and training, auditing and monitoring, data analytics, metrics and reporting, investigations, enforcement and risk assessment.
The position will have a key leadership role, assume responsibility for and provide guidance and supervision and oversight of the CBI strategic planning process, program management and specific project management including developing and managing an annual operational plan and reporting regularly on the implementation of the program. This may involve oversight of other project managers, teaching others project management skills and aligning specific initiatives with the strategic plan and other key agency priorities. This may involve developing strategic planning criteria, identifying goals and objectives, strategic operational plans, establishing and evaluating milestones for program effectiveness and assisting with the tracking and reporting of these initiatives.
