    This is NOT a full-time position and the position does not have a recurring work schedule. Intermittent positions enable the University to meet a broad range of customer requirements, including surge, applying diverse acquisition and leadership experience.

    There is no minimum guarantee of hours of work for an intermittent position and the total hours that may be worked in a 12-month period may not exceed 1000 hours. The number of hours that are available to be worked in a position during a 12-month period will be subject to negotiation between the University and the applicant.

    Defense Systems Management College faculty are primarily involved in the learning and development of senior and executive-level acquisition leaders, international acquisition leaders and workforce, and leaders and workforce involved in the development and management of Department of Defense acquisition requirements, including the acquisition of services. As an intermittent faculty member in acquisition management, this position will assist with the development and delivery of DAU courses on understanding DoD's industry partners, understanding acquisition policy, and acquisition strategy development. Instruction as required / requested on topics in 300 and 400-level courses as well as providing insights to faculty and staff at all DAU locations.

    Intermittent faculty may perform any of all the functions of full-time faculty. Including:

    • Teaching, including facilitation of cases, exercises and group discussions
    • Curriculum Development, including writing, research, exercises, and simulations
    • Knowledge capture and Dissemination, including use of on-line and video resources
    • Consulting to individuals and teams regarding acquisition and leadership challenges
    • Outreach to customers and stakeholders on behalf of DSMC or the Defense Acquisition University
    • Participation in studies involving DAU as directed by the DAU President or the DAU Deans.
