The Department of Compact Operations (DCO) is comprised of two technical divisions and two regional divisions, the Africa division and the Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America (EAPLA) division. These regional divisions are responsible for overseeing compact assistance programs in Africa and EAPLA, including regional affairs staff based in Washington, D.C. and resident country missions in compact partner countries. The Managing Directors in each regional division report to the applicable Regional Deputy Vice President. This position is located in the Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America (EAPLA) division.
Although the position is advertised equivalent to SES/SL in pay, MCC uses a pay banded system to compensate employees. This position is pay band MC-2D which is generally equal to SES/SL pay only.
