The NVSL diagnostic laboratories provide scientific and technical support to the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Program Units engaged in regulations enforcement and animal disease control and eradication.
As the Director of National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL), the incumbent is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and direction of the NVSL, a division of Science, Technology, and Analysis Services (STAS). The NVSL has laboratories at Ames, Iowa and Plum Island, New York.
Salary Information: First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lowest rate of the salary range for the grade selected.
