    This is a term position not to exceed two years and may be extended two years.

    This is an episodic, intermittent position, on an irregular or occasional basis with hours and days of work not on a prearranged schedule and with compensation for the actual time employed or for service rendered.

    Responsibilities

    1. Performs postmortem examinations of dental and associated material, makes reports of findings and provides professional conclusions and opinions regarding the presence of characteristics that may be used to identify the deceased.
    2. Receives and interprets radiological requests to assure all anatomical views are provided for visualization and dental interpretation by dental officers.
    3. Carries out major Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team (DMORT) activities which include: temporary morgue facilities; victim identification; forensic dental pathology; forensic anthropology methods; processing; preparation; and, disposition of remains.
    4. Assures aseptic principles and techniques are in order to properly use both clean and contaminated equipment, protect self and others through use of universal precautions.

    76% or greater - 95% Domestic and 5% international travel.
