As a Program Specialist, you will play a key role in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify business process problems with a focus on supporting program and division budget activities. Specifically, you will: Perform a variety of duties associated with proposal processing including redacting panel reviews/summaries (non-scientific), identifying conflicts of interest (COI), and responding to correspondence and telephone calls regarding proposal policies and systems. Gather data for analysis and information sharing and conduct moderately complex qualitative analyses. Troubleshoot systems and provide system support for basic proposal processing systems and applications. Provide budget support to include creating and monitoring the budget spreadsheets and conducting financial analysis.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent.
You must meet eligibility and qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date.
