Being a Program Analyst makes you a valuable member of the Office of Investigations and Evaluations. You will conduct broad program assignments requiring integrated analysis of a number of management programs, systems, and operations. The work involves gathering information, identifying and analyzing issues, and developing recommendations to resolve substantive problems of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a program or program support setting. This is in addition to improving conditions of a procedural nature which relate to the efficiency of organizations. Your work will require the application of qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques that frequently require modification to fit a wider range of variables.
Typical assignments at the grade 9 level include:
- Assisting in the preparation of audits and program evaluations, which focus on fraud, abuse, mismanagement and waste of taxpayer funds invested in Homeland Security.
