    This position is located in Seattle, Washington. Procurement teams are a part of GPO's Customer Services division, with several teams located in DC and additional teams located across the nation. Our nationwide coverage offers the unique potential to be considered for future relocation opportunities, if desired.

    The Selectee will work shift 1. The selectee will work shift 1 for a daily 8-1/2 hour tour of duty, including 30 minutes unpaid lunch, spanning the core hours of 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (i.e. 8:00 am - 4:30 pm or 7:30 am - 4:00 pm).

    This position is an internship at GPO. GPO Pathways Internship Program provides students enrolled in a variety of educational institutions with paid opportunities to work and learn about careers in GPO while still in school.

    GPO Pathways Program accepts students pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate in one of the following: an accredited high school, college (including 4-year College/Universities, Community College, and Junior Colleges); Professional, Technical Vocational, and Trade School; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institutions.

    As a General Administrative Trainee in the Customer Services business unit, you will work with Publishing Specialists and Procurement Technicians who are responsible for procuring all types of printing and publishing products. Additionally, you will collaborate with Federal agency customers to assist with defining order requirements and to utilize a variety of contracting methods to process high volumes of orders. Your typical work assignments may include the following:

    Assisting Printing Specialists with review of customer printing/publishing orders and consultation with customers to offer suggestions using your knowledge of printing terminology and various production methods. Additionally, you will use MS Office to develop Excel spreadsheets, draft contract documents and create documents in MS Word, compile data for reports, and to generate cost estimates for high volumes of orders on printing contracts, etc. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Infrequent travel might be required. If required, it the travel will be limited to visiting customers in the local commuting area along with other team members to participate in outreach or support activities.
