The incumbent serves as the Deputy Chief of Protocol to the US Military Representative (USMILREP) to the NATO Military Committee and as the Visitor Operations Coordinator for all US military personnel traveling to the BENELUX (Belgium, The Netherlands, and Luxembourg) that require Distinguished Visitor (DV) support, which includes all commands associated with NATO, the USNMR and SHAPE, US NATO, US Embassy, and EU. Assists in implementing the essential elements of the Commands Strategic Communications program with respect to DV visits and events. Develops concise itineraries that synchronize the operational and logistical requirements in close coordination with key staff elements, appropriate major subordinate organizations, and the US Military Delegation (USDELMC). Serves as the
liaison officer to the Distinguished Visitor Support Element (DVSE) to coordinate all logistical support for each General and Flag Officer visit. Responsible for tracking and staffing all US military personnel visiting the NATO HQ, ensures all access requests are properly submitted to the NATO Office of Security (NOS). Applies a thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, protocol requirements, and practices associated with each visit to ensure we are compliant with USDELMC DV programs and policies. Supports the US NATO Operations Office and DVSE, when necessary, to ensure visit completion. Responsible for the operational aspects of an effective visitors' program at the USDELMC and supported agencies. Assists with planning and coordinating a variety of activities associated with official and social visits, functions and events.
