The National Defense University (NDU) is recruiting for a Protocol Officer to support the Events Directorate within the University Operations Directorate.
This position is located in the University Operations Directorate. The directorate provides administrative, management, and operations planning and execution and advice to the Office of the President, Senior Vice President, Provost, Chief Operating Officer, Component leadership and the University community at large. The directorate manages senior leader engagement, protocol and other social events with domestic and international distinguished visitors. Additionally, the directorate interfaces with the entire University staff (north and south campuses) on issues related to Enterprise-level administration and business process design and execution, management controls, metrics, and automation and the assignment, quality control, and completion of administrative and staff actions. The directorate serves as the primary point of entry for staff actions received from external entities as well as all components within the University. The directorate also act as the scheduling, tasking, and execution authority for University current and future operations.
NDU develops joint warfighters and other national security leaders through rigorous academics, research and engagement to serve the common defense.

Background or Security Investigation: This is a non-critical sensitive position which requires a background investigation. The individual selected for this position is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security determination to occupy a non-critical sensitive position within the agency as a condition of employment.
Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
