The incumbent accomplishes installation, repair, and maintenance both major and minor to all station refrigeration and air conditioning systems. These include domestic type refrigerators, walk-in coolers, deep freeze units, ice making machines, water chiller systems and central air conditioning systems of varied size and complexity in different areas as
surgical suite, ICU, RCU, etc. These systems vary greatly in types of controls and other components. The central air conditioning system include individual major component sections that require regular surveillance and maintenance including air moving equipment (fans, baffles, ducts etc.), heating devices (coils, valves, traps, etc.), cooling devices (compressors, condensers, coils, expansion valves, etc.), air filtering sections, humidification systems,and pneumatic and electronic control systems. Complete annual overhauls are required on all of these systems including dismantling, repairing and reassembling units such as compressors, pumps, chillers, receivers, etc. This includes complex repairs as installing and fitting bearings, bushings, connecting rods, piston rings, overhauling valves, and aligning motors and flywheel drives.
Work Schedule: 40 Hours per week - 7:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. Monday-Friday. May be required to work occasional overtime and weekends.
