    Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will be paid if the selectee lives outside of the local commuting area and is otherwise eligible for reimbursement of relocation expenses in accordance with the Federal Travel Regulation.

    Responsibilities

    Provides oversight for the Arrowhead Regional Dispatch Center for parks in Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. Responsible for the supervisory functions of subordinate Public Safety Dispatchers to include: hiring, training, directing, supervising, disciplining, and evaluating. Responsible for scheduling the Public Safety Dispatchers assigned to the Gateway Arch National Park, ensuring sufficient coverage for 24hr operations. Serves as a back-up dispatcher on an as-needed basis to ensure 24hr coverage or provide additional emergency coverage for large or multiple incidents. Responsible for developing and maintaining dispatch operations plans, policies and guidelines. Maintains and ensures communications equipment and systems are functioning, coordinating repairs, replacements and maintenance as necessary and within budgetary constraints.
    Serves as a liaison with dispatch counterparts of other NPS units, public safety agencies, and public service organizations. Administers formal agreements with Missouri and REJIS (Regional Justice Information Systems-Metro St. Louis) for the use of state computerized criminal history programs. Evaluates and coordinates emergency situations and daily operations to ensure accurate quantities and kinds of resources are dispatched to incidents. Maintains tracking of all law enforcement, fire, emergency services and search and rescue personnel via the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to insure their safety and/or provide back-up or additional resource if needed. Provides oversight to Center staff that receives and process resource orders for specialized equipment, supplies, boat, and personnel. May serve as logistics coordinator between initial attack dispatch organization, expanded dispatch organization, and the Incident Commander during complex wildland fire, law enforcement, or other situations.
