The incumbent serves as senior Budget Analyst within the Natural Resource Stewardship and Science directorate of the National Park Service's Washington Office with a duty station in Washington, DC. The incumbent functions as the senior analyst for programs directorate-wide as well as the principle analyst for directorate offices administered directly as part of the Immediate Office of the Associate Director in Washington, DC and other locations, providing the full range of budget planning, execution and analysis activities whose combined funding typically involves more than $110 million in appropriated and other funds. The incumbent provides specialized performance over the full range of both routine and atypical budget execution requirements including the review and analysis of program budgetary requirements, financial planning, use of financial management systems, reconciling obligations and expenditures, preparing budget cost projections, applying internal controls, and preparation of actual financial data to meet status of funds and other reporting requirements. The incumbent assists program and senior directorate managers by providing accurate and timely support in the area of budget planning and execution in an on-going basis to ensure the effective and efficient execution of assigned program funds. The incumbent communicates overview as well as detailed, technical budget information orally in person, as well as by teleconference and video conference, and in writing through reports, briefing papers, and visual presentations prepared for supervisor and program managers.
