The Deputy Clerk (Case Management) is a key member of the overall management team for the Clerk's Office. The Deputy Clerk is a lead manager for operation of and improvements to the Court's docketing and electronic filing systems. The Deputy Clerk oversees preparation and finalization of the Order Lists to be issued by the Court, receiving information from Chambers on the disposition of petitions and other matters, and ensuring that information is correctly entered on the Court's docket system and on public Orders Lists. The Deputy Clerk reviews approximately 20% of emergency applications submitted to the Court, including approximately 20% of applications in capital cases, advises counsel and pro se litigants on Court procedures with respect to those applications, and oversees processing and disposition of those applications. The Deputy Clerk oversees the Court's consideration of admissions to, and suspensions and disbarments from, the Court's Bar. The Deputy Clerk oversees preparation of the Court's Journal, judgments and mandates, and statistics; and supervises several Clerk's Office employees who carry out these and other functions. The incumbent researches and responds to correspondence or inquiries from counsel, pro se litigants, and the general public concerning all types of Court procedural requirements, case status, argument schedules, and interpretations of the Court's Rules, procedure and practice.
Graduation from an ABA accredited law school required.
