The Pathways Internship Program allows law students to join VA in career positions that emphasize training and development. The Summer internship will be a 90 day temporary appointment. The number of paid interns is limited and students will be required to start employment by May 28, 2018, completing the 90 day internship on August 24, 2018.
The Primary Purpose of this position is to aid higher level staff in support of legal proceedings by gathering, arranging, analyzing, evaluating and controlling information and evidence needed for case processing and the issuance of appellate decisions by Veterans Law Judges. Successful accomplishment of the work facilitates the work of higher level staff and attorneys in such matters as preparing for hearings with Veterans and drafting appellate decisions. The accuracy of the work products contributes to the quality of the decision issued. The duties and responsibilities will be as follows:
