    About the Position:

    Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

    This position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 3 years. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years. This position may have potential for subsequent noncompetitive conversion to a permanent appointment without further competition.

    • Independently performs appraisals of real property for project studies, land acquisition and property management purposes.
    • Properties appraised may be vacant or improved and include total acquisitions or partial takings which could result in severance damages or benefits to the remainders.
    • Performs technical review of appraisal reports and cost estimates prepared by staff and contract appraisers for project studies, realty interest acquisition, condemnation proceedings and property management.
    • Approved appraisals form the basis for project budgets, negotiations with owners and tenants, as well as for testimony in court in litigated cases. Is required to perform courthouse research.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position up to 25 percent.
