The incumbent will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) and will perform, but not limited to, the following major duties:
Provides system engineering and operations of FirstNet systems performing Tier II and Tier III hardware and software support, network transport and network security systems located in various locations.
Provides technical oversight, management, installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring and administration for the following systems: routers, switches, firewalls, management systems, Riverbed, FireEye, Splunk, Cisco ISE, Prime Infrastructure, and Cisco VoIP.
Handles both unclassified and classified information following industry best practices and in accordance with established Federal regulations and policies.
Assists in the development, implementation, documentation and maintenance of the Information System Assessment and Accreditation Process.
Supports the remediation of security and other vulnerabilities in accordance with the Information Technology Division’s Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) process.
Serves as a subject-matter expert on matters pertaining to computer, network and communications security, information, cyber security, general oversight, compliance and training in the IT security arena.
Serves as lead on special assignments, projects, and related work activities involving information systems and network security.
Provides installation, implementation, configuration and support of IT operations infrastructure components. Integrates information systems security with other security disciplines.
Develops systems security and contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures for the operations infrastructure.
Plans and coordinates the development of specifications to meet security requirements at the storage layers.
Monitors enterprise-level backup solutions including installing client agents, verifying backup completion, verifying retention policies and data integrity, and configuring backup storage targets.
Interprets IT policies, standards, and guidelines and develops network usage policies and procedures.
Applies information security and information assurance policy, principals, and practices and ensures full security encryption and assessment of all data in all systems is administered and managed securely throughout the technology infrastructure.
