This vacancy is for an Economist position located in the Input-Output Analysis Section of the Input-Output Statistics Branch of the Industry Economic Accounts Directorate.
The incumbent will be responsible for developing, updating, and implementing the statistical software applications that are used to prepare the U.S. Industry Economic Accounts, including the input-output and GDP by industry accounts, KLEMS statistics, and supplemental data products.
The incumbent will serve as an analyst with responsibility for designated modules within the system used to prepare economic statistics on outputs, inputs, value added, and final expenditure in the U.S. economy.
The individual selected for this position will:
- Prepare and analyze economic statistics both accurately and timely.
- Communicate economic statistics, concepts, and procedures as part of a collaborative work process.
- Quickly identify problems and develop solutions to resolve estimation issues while producing economic statistics.
- Develop statistical data processing systems via designing and writing programs using SQL, C#, SAS, and/or other programming languages.
