This position is located Care Management and Social Work Service, in Washington DC. Serving as the National Caregiver Support Training Program Manager. This position executes leadership, guidance and oversight for: the development of the national caregiver support training program; clinical evidence-based training and interventions for the caregiver; education and consultation services for the caregiver; and staff o caregiver issues; community outreach; resource development; continuous quality improvement activities and the evaluation of caregiver training. In addition the incumbent must be a skilled communicator capable of developing effective partnerships with local, state and federal agencies as well as non-governmental organizations. The incumbent is administratively responsible for the oversight of the clinical programming and administrative operations of the program, as well as for the management of data and budget related to the program. Duties include but not limited to:
Development and management of training contracts and overall implementation of specific evidence based family caregiver education, training and support programs for caregivers and VA Staff with multi-mode availability;
Serve as program manager for all contracts related to training and education in the Caregiver Support Program;
National development and oversight implementation of mandated training for VA Staff and family caregivers;
Developing and implementing staff training on Caregiver issues, including training requirements, benefits, and services
Implementing and providing on-going management of regional training initiatives.
