JOB DESCRIPTION: Information Technology (IT) Audit Specialists perform independent assessments of Agency IT policy, programs, and operations. They oversee contractors performing the IT aspects of the annual financial statement audits and the Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014 (FISMA) assessments. They gather and analyze IT information, identify areas for improvement, draft findings and recommendations, and prepare reports. These auditors carry out activities in accordance with Agency and NGA Office of Inspector General (OIG) guidance, Government auditing standards, and other applicable requirements. They follow up on report recommendations to ensure that appropriate actions are identified and implemented.Learn more about this agency
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The NGA OIG Audit Division conducts independent, objective audits and other reviews of NGA programs and operations and makes recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of NGA policies, programs, and operations. The OIG Audit Division is seeking an IT Audit Specialist to research, plan, and conduct information technology-related audits and reviews. This individual will also assist in overseeing contractors performing the information technology aspects of the annual financial statement audits (Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual - FISCAM) and the Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014 (FISMA) evaluations. This individual should have information technology auditing experience. Experience in performing or overseeing the information technology aspects of Federal government financial statement audits and OIG FISMA evaluations is highly desirable. This individual will have an opportunity to participate in all aspects of the audit cycle from development of an annual audit plan through follow-up on recommendations. This individual must have a strong ethical commitment to ensure the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of NGA programs. This individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment. This individual must also have strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work on multiple tasks with short deadlines while prioritizing as necessary to meet critical needs.
