    About the Position: Serves as team member with primary responsibility for all structural and civil engineering
    supporting District projects involving structural design, analysis and preparation of Plans and Specifications and decision documents for buildings, bridges, cellular and sheet pile breakwaters, hydraulic structures, retaining walls, roadways, flood control and navigation projects including locks, dams, seawalls, breakwaters, levees, and confined disposal dikes.

    • Conducts and directs studies and computations of features concerning principles of structural and civil engineering including determining design loads, analysis of statically determinant and non-determinate structures.
    • Utilizes computer software and applications necessary for the completion of the project and properly integrates other mathematical and graphical methods.
    • Acts as the Technical Coordinator of the structural design team member and may lead a design team in developing engineering appendices, Design Document Reports (DDR).
    • Advises Architect-Engineer (AE) and other professional engineers on technical design and analysis circumstances.
    • Prepares government estimates, scopes of work, requests for proposals and manages and tracks the progress and adequacy of work assigned to Architect-Engineer contractors.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Up to 10% TDY Business Travel may be required.
