Conduct research in wireless communications and signal processing with an emphasis on next generation wireless technologies such as cognitive radios, spectrum sharing, wireless coexistence, extensions to Long Term Evolution (LTE) and 5G. Develop measurement methods to test and evaluate wireless systems and components such as software defined sensors, wireless receivers, adaptive coding and modulation, filtering and channel propagation. Contribute to the development of standards for 5G wireless systems. Investigate new methods and metrics to evaluate, calibrate, and test cognitive radio sensors. Develop mechanisms to efficiently share wireless spectrum. The incumbent will provide professional support and technical contributions to the development of standards for 5G and spectrum sharing systems, documenting results via reports, publications, and conference presentations.
