The Office of Personnel Management is looking for a dynamic and energetic leader to join their Senior Executive Service (SES) Corps. The Senior Executive Service (SES) is comprised of the men and women charged with leading the continuing transformation of government. These leaders possess well-honed executive skills and share a broad perspective of government and a public service commitment which is grounded in the Constitution.
This position serves as the Executive Secretariat and Internal Oversight Officer in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). The Office of Executive Secretariat and Internal Oversight facilitates and coordinates the expeditious consideration and management of a wide variety of actions and critical issues with which the Director and agency leadership are concerned. The incumbent ensures that policies are consistent with the directions of the Director. The incumbent also directly manages day-to-day administrative aspects of the Office of the Director and oversees resources management functions for the Director's office and assigned organizational components. The incumbent plays a key role in continuity of operations in agency leadership transitions serving as the Agency's Transition Director.
In the Internal Oversight Officer capacity, the incumbent is also responsible for oversight and compliance for the following OPM program areas: retirement operations, the health benefits program, investigations operations, revolving fund operations, procurement, financial operations, support services and any other OPM programs of interest to the OPM Director. This also entails follow up and reporting in response to inquiries and findings from GAO, OIG, OMB and other external oversight organizations.
