The Recent Graduate Program is a one-year program that targets individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants will be placed in a dynamic, one-year career development program. Program participates will receive formal training, relevant job assignments, and a personal mentor to develop competencies applicable to BEA's mission and needs.
This position is at the Band II/III (GS-9/11 Equivalent) level with an opportunity for permanent appointment upon successful completion of the program.

The individual selected for this position will:
● Conduct statistical research;
● Communicate on statistics in person and in writing to a variety of audiences;
● Apply statistical techniques;
● Use and analyze economic statistics to include those in the U.S. International economic accounts;
● Evaluate and develop statistical aspect of surveys.

In addition to meeting the Basic Entry Requirements above, applicants must have the experience listed below.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/band (GS-9) equivalent level or band II.
Examples of specialized experience include (Graduate studies or equivalent): writing and presenting information related to statistics and statistical research; utilizing statistical software to apply statistical techniques; compiling and assembling economic/statistical material; evaluating and developing statistical aspects of surveys; experience with SAS language and experience in leading groups.
OR
3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
