    THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

    This National Guard position is for an ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, Position Description Number D2051P00 and is part of the ID AASF, Idaho Army National Guard.

    THIS POSITION IS BACKFILLING A TECHNICIAN WHO IS DEPLOYING.

    FOR CURRENT FEDERAL TECHNICIANS ASSIGNED TO THE IDAHO NATIONAL GUARD THIS WOULD BE A TEMPORARY PROMOTION OR REASSIGNMENT AND CURRENT TENURE WOULD TRANSFER WITH EMPLOYEE. UPON MEMBER RETURNING FROM DEPLOYMENT, THE TEMPORARILY PROMOTED OR TEMPORARILY REASSIGNED EMPLOYEE WOULD RETURN TO PREVIOUS POSITION. THIS COULD BECOME A PERMANENT PROMOTION OR REASSIGNMENT IF POSITION BECOMES AVAILABLE.

    FOR A NEWLY HIRED TECHNICIAN, THIS POSITION IS INDEFINITE AND WILL END UPON DEPLOYING MEMBERS RETURN. THIS POSITION MAY CONVERT TO A PERMANENT STATUS WITHOUT FURTHER COMPETITION IF POSITION BECOMES AVAILABLE.

    Responsibilities

    This position is located in an Army National Guard Aviation Support Facility, with no subordinate units assigned. The purpose of the position is to function as the Officer in Charge (OIC) of training for the organization. Serves as the principal staff officer and primary advisor to the Commander for providing leadership, oversight, information, analysis, guidance and recommendations on training and day-to-day matters of the command. Base level of work supervised is GS-09.

    As the full-time representative of the Commander, oversees the development of unit training goals. Ensures goals are in consonance with higher headquarters direction and local limitations. Oversees the development and execution of long and short range plans and programs. Provides a focus for all unit functions and activities.

    Provides oversight for training readiness reports. Evaluates organizational training readiness reports and develops recommendations for improvement/modification to the organizational priorities based on ever-changing needs of the organization. Analyzes proposed changes and determines effects on organizational training readiness and the ability of organization to accomplish assigned missions.

    Keeps up to date with new policies, regulations and directives. Reviews, provides input and finalizes studies relating to new force structure, reorganization, relocation of units, personnel practices, etc. as it relates to training.
