    This position is located in the Oceanice and Atmospheric Research (OAR), Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL), Observations Systems and Advanced Technology Branch (OSAT) and is for one vacancy located in Ann Arbor, MI.

    Responsibilities

    As a Supervisory General Engineer, you will perform the following duties:

    • Implement an innovative engineering program focused on collecting, producing, and delivering environmental data for near real-time observations to support the environmental science, and research and decision making by resource managers including federal, state and local agencies, academic institutions and the public.
    • Oversee ship operations including the supervision of all crew members.
    • Lead professional, highly technical, and complex programs involving the oversight of meteorological data stations and web camera stations that provide information on natural events including storms, rip currents, ice cover which affects commercial navigation, regional snowfall, and summer lake levels.

    Travel Required

    50% or less - 30% of domestic and foreign travel may be required.
