Duties and Responsibilities of Clinical Psychologist Primary Care, may include, but are not limited to:
The incumbent serves as a Staff Psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry with assignments to the Primary Care.
S/he
· Function as a member of an interdisciplinary teams of professionals
· Provide consultative services to other clinics within the Medical Center
· Ability to diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological and/or neuropsychological assessments, with special emphasis on, and awareness of the mental health, social, and medical need of the primary care population.
· Specialized awareness of behavioral health issues is necessary.
· Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment and using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care to veterans and their families.
· Specializing in the determination of behavioral health concerns and the psychiatric and social problems associated with behavioral health problems.
· Consults with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues.
· Staff psychologists may be involved in program evaluation and/or research activities.
