You will plan, organize and implement unit programs, policies, and procedures in the absence of the full time commander, and provides direction and continuity of operations. It is also responsible for the supervision of all assigned full time employees.
Military Grades: OFFICER ONLY

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: All series personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level and must have a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in a career skill competency level immediately below the next higher level. Must have validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to a high degree of analytical ability, positions in this series and career level require specialized knowledge of the basic principles and practices related to the management of health care delivery systems. Must have military or civilian working knowledge in health services management; hospital administration and practice; contractual and accounting fundamentals; quality management; human resource management; and biometrics. Must have military or civilian working knowledge and skills in nursing standards; nursing practice; medical executive competencies and working knowledge in writing and directing contingency plans. At least 12 months of military or civilian working experiences at an intermediate career skill competency level in one of the medical service core functions that is prescribed as: Health facilities, health plan management, medical resources, health care information management and information technology, medical logistics, or medical readiness (including aeromedical evacuation). Must have at least 12 months of military or civilian working experiences, education, or training that resulted in competent knowledge of the principles and practices related to the management of health care delivery systems. Must have military or civilian working experiences in analyzing and recommending solutions to complicated problems related to health systems. Experiences include a thorough knowledge of health care delivery systems in regard to missions, organizations, programs, and requirements. Must have organizational skills; leadership competencies; oral and writing skills; and experiences in briefing senior leaders on related subjects.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:
1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
4. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
5. The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment. You are responsible to maintain awareness of your environmental responsibilities as dictated by legal and regulatory requirements, your organization, and its changing mission.
An Undergraduate Degree in Health Administration, Health Care Administration (or equivalent), Health Care Management, Health Management and Policy, Health Services Administration (or equivalent), Hospital Administration (or equivalent), or related fields such as, Primary Care Management. Other completed degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Information Systems Management, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering and Health Management/Health Systems Engineering, Operations Research or other closely-related degree fields.

A Graduate Degree in Health Administration, Health Care Administration (or equivalent), Health Care Management, Health Management and Policy, Health Services Administration (or equivalent), Hospital Administration (or equivalent), Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Information Systems Management, or other business-related equivalent.
