Responsible for the lifecycle management and oversight of all projects assigned to the branch. This includes project initiation, planning, prioritization, execution, performance management, and close-out.
Duties include:
- Leading, directing, and supporting project managers in all project phases in FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Headquarters and nationwide. This includes prospectus/non-prospectus projects, new facility build-outs, and administrative space consolidations, reconfigurations, and modernization.
- Oversight and support of project managers in planning, programming, coordinating, performance management, and cost management.
- Ensuring project manager compliance with standards outlined in the FAA Space Order.
- Supervising project manager planning, coordinating, designing, and procurement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Ensuring project manager support of management/bargaining unit work group deliberations and selections of furniture, fixtures, and finishes.
- Supervision and support of project manager development and reviews of Project Management Plans (PMP), Statements of Work (SOW), and cost estimates.
- Leading, supporting, and resourcing project managers in ALO recurring Program Management Reviews and submission of project status updates.
- Maintaining a centralized project management database complemented by production and submission of tailored reports summarizing project details.
- Serving as the voice of ALO and ALO-300 in design and construction project management in coordination with FAA lines of business (LOB), staff offices (SO), and Labor Relations.
To qualify for this position all applicants must demonstrate one year (52 weeks) of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE equivalent to the next lower grade (GS/FG-13) or level (FV-I) in the Federal service. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of that position. To be creditable, SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE must have been at least equivalent to the next lower grade in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes: Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations as they apply to building codes, space and renovation.
