Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO): The mission of the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO) is to provide an enterprise-wide Information Security Program that assures integrity, confidentiality, and availability of corporate information by proactively protecting its assets from unauthorized access and misuse.
Office of the Director, DIT : The Office of the Director provides oversight and direction for DIT in its mission to provide scalable, efficient and secure technology solutions.
Business Administration Branch (BAB): The mission of the Business Administration Branch (BAB) is to provide expertise and services necessary to ensure efficient business operations of the Division.
Infrastructure Services Branch (ISB): The mission of the Infrastructure Services Branch (ISB) is to provide a highly available IT infrastructure for the FDIC.
Delivery Management Branch (DMB) The mission of the Delivery Management Branch (DMB) is to define, design, develop, test, implement, and maintain corporate applications systems that support all corporate business, financial, administrative, and legal services requirements.
Enterprise Technology Branch (ETB): The mission of the Enterprise Technology Branch (ETB) is to promote IT innovation and evolution and IT strategic planning, direction, and consultation to the FDIC in support of corporate goals and client needs.
Interns assigned to OCISO may assist with performing the following:

To be eligible for conversion to the competitive service, you must complete 640 hours of work experience (up to 320 hours may be waived based on successful performance in the position and a 3.45 overall GPA); meet the OPM qualification standards for the target position; and meet the requirements of the FDIC Pathways Agreement. Service in the Pathways Internship Program confers no right to further employment.
NOTE: Prior to conversion to an Information Technology Specialist (2210 series), you must either have a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks or have IT related experience. IT related experience must demonstrate each of the four competencies listed below with a minimum of 1 year specialized experience at the next lower GS/CG level or equivalent:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
