    This position is located within the Neural Environment Cluster (NET), Division of Neuroscience (DON) in the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). The mission of NINDS is to seek fundamental knowledge about the brain and nervous system and to use that knowledge to reduce the burden of neurological disease. To support this mission, NINDS supports and performs basic, translational, and clinical neuroscience research through grants-in-aid, contracts, scientific meetings, through research in its own laboratories, and clinics, and promotes the timely dissemination of scientific discoveries and their implications for neurological health to the public, health professionals, researchers, and policy-makers. The NET cluster supports research in stroke, brain tumor biology, multiple sclerosis, neuroAIDS, neurovascular biology, neuroprotection, neurorestoration, neuroinflammation, neuroimaging, neurovirology and infectious diseases of the CNS.

    While at least a 4-year degree related to the health sciences or allied sciences is required, a post-baccalaureate degree or training in an academic field related to neuroscience or a related biological science field is preferred.

    • Monitor the status of project applications and awards from peer review through post-award administration and produces documents and responses to requests for information required.
    • Coordinate and screen research projects for compliance with NIH policies.
    • Analyze grant portfolios and research programs and search scientific literature.
    • Prepare scientific and administrative reports.
    • Assist in Workshop planning and execution.
    • Contribute to the development of new program initiatives.
    • Develop, update and maintain websites.
