The incumbent is responsible for setting strategic goals and priorities, developing policy, leading Grants Management Specialists, coordinating closely with customers, allocating and monitoring workload and allocating resources. Management responsibility includes the following: overseeing the pre-award, award and post-award monitoring of grants and cooperative agreements; drafting and formalizing terms and conditions, including award restrictions; assigning work to subordinates, evaluating work performance, and giving advice on both work and administrative matters; providing advice to program officials on matters related to grants administration; providing advice and assistance to interested applicants and grant recipients; assisting with drafting Federal Funding Opportunities; and developing advice and guidance for the resolution of financial assistance audits. The job requires less than 10% of travel. Incumbent should be prepared to travel domestically and abroad.
