    - Protect the President, the Vice President, and other leaders; investigate threats against them; and safeguard their residences and other facilities

    - Plan and implement security designs for National Special Security Events

    - Investigate financial crimes including fraud, identity theft and computer-based attacks on banking or telecommunications infrastructure

    Joining the Secret Service as a Student Volunteer Intern in the New York Field Office will allow you to gain substantive educational and professional experience while making an impact on the agency mission.

    Duties of the U.S. Secret Service Student Volunteer Service Program vary from office to office however, it is not uncommon for students to:

    - Observe protective advances and/or movements

    - Perform light administrative duties as needed

    - Assist with counting and processing counterfeit currency

    - Support Secret Service personnel with various initiatives, projects, and/or assignments
