    This position is part of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. As a IT Specialist (PLCYPLN), this position is located in:

    This position is located in the PFPA Force Protection Technology Division (FPTD). FPTD provides the Agency with Information Technology (IT) Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, System Administration, Configuration Management, Project Management, Land Mobile Radio/Telecommunications and Cybersecurity (CS) support services. This includes, Desktop computing resources, physical/virtual system and application hosting environment, radio communications for the Pentagon and surrounding area, Desk-set and Cellular Telephone support services. The key functions of FPTD are: providing PFPA with secure, reliable, and available life safety backbone systems, applications, and networks; managing police radio communications; assisting with interagency connectivity; data backup; CS; and system engineering/administration and connectivity for: Life Safety Systems, Modeling Systems, Security Alarm and Sensor Systems, and Building Access Control Systems.

    The mission of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) is to provide force protection, security, and law enforcement, as required for the people, facilities, infrastructure and other resources at the Pentagon Reservation and Department of Defense (DoD) activities and DoD-leased facilities not under the jurisdiction of a Military Department within the National Capital Region (NCR) (hereinafter referred to as "the Pentagon Facilities"). This includes addressing the full spectrum of potential threats through robust prevention, preparedness, detection, and response measures. PFPA uses an integrated approach to perform its critical mission, bringing together functions such as chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear detection and response, law enforcement, physical security, anti-terrorism/force protection, and surveillance detection. PFPA operates in an environment that requires close coordination between multiple local, state and Federal agencies.

    Responsibilities

    As a IT Specialist (PLCYPLN), GS-2210-13, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:

    • Gathers requirements, facilitates end user process refinement, plans information technology solutions, and oversees the implementation across functional areas,
    • Interprets & enforces Information Technology strategy, policy, and guidance to ensure consistency and compliance.
    • Participates in the requirements identification, analysis, and proposed solution for current and future IT capabilities.
    • Conducts analytical studies and cost-benefit and needs analysis.
    • Applies professional skills and knowledge to innovation of IT systems to facilitate, integrate, and automate enterprise-wide business processes and collaborative capabilities across PFPA.
