    This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.

    DoD Components with DCIPS positions apply Veterans' Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 USC, in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.     All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.

    Responsibilities

    This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) with duties in the "Professional" work category and at the Full Performance work level.

    The organizational location of this position is: 27 Intelligence SQ, JB Langley-Eustis ABS, VA

    This position has been designated as a Key Career Position (KCP). The assignment will not be continuing and has an established tour limitation of 36-60 months as determined by the Career Field Team and Career Field Manager. Employees must sign a Memorandum of Understanding including Selection, Restriction, Outplacement, Tour and Mobility Agreement as a condition of employment. This addendum is effective 1 March 2014 and will be utilized upon incumbent's exit from the position and from that point forward whenever the position is filled

    MAJOR DUTIES: SUPV IT SPECIALIST (OS/DATAMGT)

    • Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the element.
    • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
    • Proposes, advocates, provides technical guidance, and manages approved implementations of computer systems software, data base management systems, operating system derivatives, and Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software packages, taking into consideration rapidly changing hardware/firmware/software technology and dynamic intelligence warfighting requirements
    • Manages the processes of designing, engineering, and providing interoperable and responsive computer system software to satisfy customer and downward directed requirements.
