This position is located in the Department of Labor 's Wage and Hour Division (WHD), Office of Policy(OP), Division of Enforcement Policy and Procedures (DEPP), Branch of Immigration and Farm Labor (Imm/FL).
The mission of the OP is to develop national enforcement policies, regulations, interpretations and provide direction for administering and enforcing Departmental programs that promote and achieve compliance with labor standards to protect and enhance that nation's workforce under selected Acts.
The Branch of Immigration and Farm Labor plans and carries out national enforcement and compliance policy and program development and administration with respect to immigration and agricultural employment and exercises a high degree of vision and ingenuity in providing planning, coordination, leadership, and direction to office staff.
The incumbent serves as a recognized authority and senior advisor to WHD senior management officials on unique and highly viable and politically sensitive wage and hour enforcement policies and procedures associated with farm/agricultural worker and immigration statues.
