    JOB DESCRIPTION: Attorneys provide legal advice and representation to ensure that NGA accomplishes its mission in compliance with applicable laws. They ascertain facts, analyze issues, apply legal authorities, render opinions, and advocate Agency positions. Attorneys work cooperatively with others within the office, the Agency, the Intelligence Community, the DoD, and the U.S. Government. Attorneys perform legal research and writing, counsel clients, and represent the Agency before legal forums. They oversee and direct Agency programs.

    Responsibilities

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Office of General Counsel (OGC) seeks a highly qualified attorney in the field of government contract law. Attorneys provide timely, accurate, and practical legal advice and representation to ensure NGA accomplishes its mission in compliance with applicable laws. At NGA, our attorneys conduct research, render legal opinions, conduct litigation, and advocate Agency positions. Attorneys work cooperatively with others within the office, the Agency, the Intelligence Community, the Department of Defense, and the U.S. Government. Attorneys perform legal research and writing, counsel clients, and represent the Agency before legal fora. The selected individual will render legal services to agency contracting officers regarding all facets of government contract law, including the formation and administration of contracts, intellectual property rights, bid protests, claims and disputes. Although it is desirable that the selectee have government contract knowledge or experience, applicants without such knowledge and experience will also be considered. The person selected may be required to attend an intensive, two-week program of instruction on the basics of government contract law and a one-week course on Federal fiscal law, both courses are conducted outside the local commuting area and will require overnight travel.
