About the Position:
This position involves working at the Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization program, a multidisciplinary mental health team in an out-patient setting at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Parking at WRNMMC is limited and by permit only. Employees can be placed on a waiting list if desired. Commuting via Mass Transit is encouraged and in close proximity to the installation.

You will serve as an expert in the field of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Perform duties as a practitioner and consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry with emphasis of all levels of complexity, providing treatment services in any capacity; including, but not limited to inpatient services, partial hospitalization services, intensive outpatient services, routine outpatient services and consultation liaison services. Responsible for providing treatment services, and performing the full range of clinical treatments, including consultation, evaluation and treatment of emergency, complex and routine cases in the field of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Treatment entails individual, marital and group psychotherapy and medication management. Provide routine, intensive, complex and emergency intakes and extended evaluations for a variety of emotional, psychological, and behavioral disorders. You will be expected to exercise initiative and sound judgment in establishing evaluation techniques, developing treatment and rehabilitation plans and providing appropriate therapeutic treatment services. Participate in the hospital approved behavioral health training programs. Provide professional consultation, education, and collaborative medical support to other professional staff, interdisciplinary teams such as psychologists, advanced practice nurses, social workers and non-behavioral health medical providers, as well as military specific liaison/consultation with commanders, agencies and programs.
