America's Logistics Combat Support Agency
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. DLA provides worldwide logistics support for the missions of the Military Departments and the Unified Combatant Commands under conditions of peace and war. It also provides logistics support to other DoD Components and certain Federal agencies, foreign governments, international organizations, and others as authorized.
This position is a Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) Assistant Business Manager (Food Service) position with DLA Installation Operations at Assistant Business Manager (Food Service), in the Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Division.
This position is a regular full-time (RFT) position, which guarantees 40 hours per week. This announcement will be used to fill one (1) vacancy available at the Installation Operations Richmond MWR-Post Restaurant, Richmond, VA. As an Assistant Business Manager (Food Service), the incumbent is responsible for:
1. Assisting the Business Manager (Food Service) in directing the operations and supervision of multiple food service facilities.
Recommending and enforcing operating procedures.
2. Conducting surveys, reviewing activity reports,and making recommendations concerning services, promotion activities, and revenue improvements.
3. Assisting the Business Manager in the selection of employees and in training new employees to work situations, compliance with health
and safety standards, and proper use of storage of tools and equipment.
4. Supervising assigned staff.
5. Completing cash reports, and making daily deposits.
Position-specific Conditions of Employment
1. Possess or obtain a sanitation certificate for food service or have the ability to obtain it within three months of employment.
2. The ability to obtain (within the first six months of employment) and maintain a Food Protection Manager Certification acquired through an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited agency is required (i.e. Serv Safe food Protection Manager Certification).
General Conditions of Employment
1. A one-year probationary period may be required upon selection.
