    The incumbent will apply statistical theories, techniques and methods to manage and coordinate the census activities.

    This vacancy is for a Supervisory Survey Statistician (Regional Survey Manager) position located in the Los Angeles Regional Office in Van Nuys, CA.

    Term Appointment: This is a Term Appointment, initial appointment is not to exceed (NTE) 2 years. This appointment may be extended 2 additional years at management’s discretion.

    The work schedule for this position is Mixed Tour. With a Mixed Tour work schedule, an employee may be changed between full-time, part-time and intermittent work schedules to accommodate fluctuating workloads and is subject to a signed agreement.

    A trial period may be required.

    A supervisory probationary period may be required.

    Relocation expenses will not be paid.

    This is an open continuous announcement. The initial cutoff date for referral is February 15, 2018. After this date additional referral lists will be created as vacancies are available.

    The individual selected for this position will:

    • Manage data collection to ensure training and observation programs are utilized to foster quality data collection techniques.
    • Manage surveys to ensure data collection remains on track and within targeted budget.
    • Collect and tabulate data using a variety of methods or developing new procedures for statistical projects.
    • Communicate progress of data collection operations to management and staff.
    • Ensure work schedules, assignments, and communication strategies are utilized to ensure team performance and cost efficiencies.

    Occasional travel - Required.
