    This position can be filled as a LPN or a Pharmacy Technician. LPNs need to apply under Vacancy Announcement CARZ-10124003-18-SV-006.

    THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS OPEN CONTINUOUS. Qualified applicants may be referred as early as February 15, 2018 after which, names will be pulled every two weeks from the open date until all positions are filled.     VA BHHCS is a multi-campus health care system, with approximately 1300 employees, providing primary care, acute medicine, surgery, behavioral health, nursing home and domiciliary care from medical centers located at Fort Meade and Hot Springs, South Dakota as well as a staffed Community Based Outreach Clinic in Rapid City and numerous contracted and staffed clinics in Western South Dakota, Northern Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming. The VA BHHCS is part of VA Midwest Healthcare System (VISN 23), which includes facilities in Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

    Responsibilities

    This position can be filled as a LPN or a Pharmacy Technician. LPNs need to apply under Vacancy Announcement CARZ-10124003-18-SV-006.
    The position's primary duties will be to triage and take action as appropriate on telephone requests from all pharmacy customers including Veterans, caregivers, nurses, providers, and external customers such as nursing homes. They must process patient's requests appropriately, applying knowledge of pharmacy practice, VA regulations, and hospital procedure, seeking assistance from clinical staff for urgent concerns. To assure that patients receive quality care in a timely fashion, the pharmacy technician must maintain a working knowledge of all pharmacy systems and processes. Possibility of commute between duty stations on an occasional basis. Valid state issued drivers license required.
