    This National Guard position is for an AIRPLANE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR, Position Description Number D1810P01 and is part of the AZ 161st Air Refueling Wing, Air National Guard.

    Note: Open until filled- Applications will be reviewed every 30 days for consideration for hire until 21 December 2018.
    Note:Individual selected will receive an Indefinite Appointment and may be converted to permanent if funding becomes available and position is no longer encumbered .
    Note: This position is subject to rotating or night shift work in support of a 24/7 Operation.

    NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

    AIRPLANE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR, GS-2181-13. This position is located with the 161st Air Refueling Wing in Phoenix, AZ. The primary purpose of the position is to provide instructions and evaluations to student pilots in using advanced precision instrument flight techniques (flight planning, precision maneuvering, and landing systems) in conjunction with air navigational aids for flying these aircraft i.e. C-130, KC-135, C-5, and C-17 and other similar type "jumbo" aircraft. Pilots are trained to fly basic airplane maneuvers necessary to familiarize students with complex airplane system and how they function.
