This position is located in the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), Structured Finance and Insurance Department (SFI); in specific, this position will focus on Political Risk Insurance (PRI). SFI facilitates U.S. investment in emerging market economies by providing medium-to-long-term loans, guaranties, and risk mitigation instruments for often highly structured, complex transactions. To mitigate risk and protect American investments, SFI provides comprehensive and cost-effective PRI and reinsurance products. PRI products are available to U.S. investors, contractors, exporters and financial institutions involved in international transactions. Our coverages protect against currency inconvertibility, expropriation and political violence.
In this position, interns perform insurance portfolio analysis. As such, interns conduct research on underwriting issues, select topics on international investment, and country risk profiles. Interns may also assist insurance officers with contract amendments and undertake business development and/or market research tasks.
